Unwanted gap between header or footer and text due to margin not set to zero.
Cause:
The distance margin between the header/footer and the text is not set to zero.
Solution:
Using Page Setup, type zero in the 'Header' or 'Footer' box.
1) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Page Setup...'.
2) Click the 'Margins' tab.
